Can't change (Radeon 7500) refresh rate with Win98SE
I can't change to anything above 800x600 with quickres anymore. It throws the refresh rate off, I think. I have a really old, really crappy 14" monitor that won't go above like 60 Hz...is this the problem? I can change between 8x6 and 640x480 and the different color depths fine, but when i go to any higher rez the

was a good unit with a high refresh rate/resolution. When I plug in a second monitor it won't run at all since it can't handle the high refresh rate/resolution setforth by the broken monitor's inf file. So, I reboot in safe mode and go to display settings and there is no way to change the monitor type/settings.

Change Refresh Rate
The two options I have for refresh are 1440x900@60hz and 75hz. I'm using the analog cable @ 60hz. What advantage, if any, would I have by running at 75hz ? If you can't tell the difference, in theory running at 60Hz leaves more bandwidth on the analog cable and should be slightly crisper output.

Hmm. It uses the same drivers for 5428 as 5434 (it seems, anyway), but . on 5428 it does not support refresh switching, while on the 5434 it does. . Yet another MAME problem: Refresh rate option is greyed in MAME32plus and TVMAME32. Checking "Match game refresh rate" or setting -refresh parameter in regular MAME doesn't change anything either. Can't change refresh rate in Windows ME?
I was wondering in X how I can set a single refresh rate instead of 'ranges'. To my eyes it looks like its refreshing at 70 or 75hz. A higher refresh rate reduces visible flicker. Changing it will do nothing to change something like your cursor blink rate.
