If you're absolutely sure your monitor supports a higher resolution than it lets you select, change the monitor to a better model, and then select that refresh rate. eg, If you've got a 1024x768 max monitor, select 1280x1024. Beware though, it's possible to cause damage to a monitor if you force a higher refresh

Change your display adapter to Standard VGA. 2. Uninstall Display Adapter software, if any. Not all adapters have this, but it's much more common now than it used to be. I don't know how to convince Windows to populate the list of refresh rate modes. Is there anything to try before purchasing new hardware? Thanks.

From historical reasons (older hardware had 64M sdram) my rom application configures the sdram to a refresh rate, which I need to change, and I can't do it in the flash. I'm trying to perform an on-the-fly (while running in the sdram) change in the refresh rate, which should work according to motorola.

could not display resolution 800x600 with higher refresh rate than 56 Hz. But problem is that I can't set my monitor to such refresh rate (driver doesn't have such posibility). Always I get agly screen when I want to change resolution to 800x600. Can somebody help me?

When using an interlaced signal you can only tweak 25 or 30 frames into those refreshes since each refresh only has half of the image. A progressive signal, however, can obviously send twice of that in the same refresh rate. Which, incidentally, is what I have been saying all along. :) No you haven't.

But when I check the display settings, not only can I not see a monitor tab; my monitor refresh rate (on the "Settings" -> "Advanced" -> "Adapter" tab) gives me a choice of "Optimal" and "Adapter default". Adapter default is about 60Hz judging from the shakes; and optimal is 72 - 75.
